Standard tuning

Comments: This bassline is one of the dirtiest Gene has ever recorded. It
sas a slight fuzz to it and a nice little delay (set to one repeat and with
the feeback low). There are a few points of interest here: first is the
little ditties in the intro which are reminiscent of Gene's live bass solo;
a similar thing (that evil half-step bend and release) occur in the middle
part after the solo. The "x"s do mark the spot in this one as they indicate
Gene use of pick scrapes (just little percussive ones) and string noises
which are an integral part of the line. In Rhy. Fig 2b there is a hammer-on
from nowhere which happens when Gene slaps his fingers down to mute the open
E. This one-time note is very effective. And, to complete the very minor
variations, Gene adds another little twist to Rhy. Fig 2c. The = sign is
new and indicates that Gene plays this note with the side of the pick.
Strike the string with the side of the pick towards the headstock but
quickly release it causing the A to ring from the scraping. (In case you don't
know, the string noises are caused by rubbing the strings with the open
left hand.)
